In November 2024, our negotiating group finalized the agreement for the natural gas pool for the years 2026 to 2027. Most recently, the agreement for the electricity pool for the same period was concluded on December 9, 2024.
Both energy pools are secure until 2027. Our negotiating group initiated the necessary tenders at an early stage in order to increase planning security for all companies involved.
Several providers took part in each of the two tenders. As an existing supplier of natural gas, enercity AG offered the best overall package. enercity AG was also able to offer the best price for the electricity pool. Hanover-based enercity AG is a provider of sustainable and intelligent energy solutions. With a turnover of more than nine billion euros and around 3,400 employees, the Group is one of the largest municipal energy service providers in Germany. The company supplies around one million people with electricity, heat and drinking water. In addition, enercity is one of the leading companies in onshore wind, municipal heat planning and heating networks and offers energy-related services, for example in the field of electromobility. For its customers, enercity is the driving force behind the digital energy world of tomorrow. The direct contact for all NIRO members on energy issues is Christian Löhmann. He has been with enercity since 2008. He has been active in business customer sales since 2018. His individual support is primarily aimed at major customers such as public sector clients as well as commercial and industrial companies.
