NIRO is getting support from a company that knows how to keep things tidy and organized: Julius vom Hofe GmbH & Co KG, based in Lüdenscheid, specializes in the manufacture of high-quality shelving systems.
Our new member company Julius vom Hofe GmbH & Co KG in the heart of the Sauerland region has been around since 1863. It is already being run by the 5th generation.
After the first years as a blacksmith’s shop in Heedfeld in the Altena district, Julius vom Hofe developed into a blacksmith’s shop with a boiler factory and an iron construction plant based in Lüdenscheid in 1910. The first wrought-iron shelves were manufactured there, which later became the main branch of production.
Today, the company specializes in industrial shelving. Julius vom Hofe manufactures classic and special high-quality shelving systems for warehouses, Kanban shelving or environmental and hygiene shelving made of steel, which are used in administration, workshops, warehouses and archives. Individual shelving units and multi-storey, walk-in shelving systems are manufactured in Lüdenscheid.
Julius vom Hofe also implements customer-specific requirements for warehouse equipment. Individual advice is particularly important here: starting with personal advice on site for an optimal and economical solution, through free CAD planning to the finished assembly.

Julius vom Hofe relies on Germany as a production location and is firmly rooted in the region. All shelving systems are manufactured exclusively in Germany. Thanks to highly qualified employees and the use of modern technologies, Julius vom Hofe demonstrates that effective, competitive production is possible in Germany.
NIRO is delighted that the new member brings great expertise in terms of order, stability and safety to the network. This certainly applies to the shelving produced by Julius vom Hofe, but as always, there is certainly a lot that can be transferred to other areas…

NIRO: Mr. Jünemann, welcome as a new member of the Industrie RuhrOst network!
Your company is now joining our network. What was the main reason for you to become a member of NIRO?
Christian Jünemann: As a medium-sized company in the heart of the Sauerland region, we are very interested in making contact with companies that have the same interests and challenges as we do. It is important for us to shape our region even more effectively, to counteract the shortage of skilled workers, to strengthen our infrastructure and to learn from each other as a company.
NIRO: Which topics are currently particularly important in your company? What should be discussed in the network? What role does sustainability play in your company?
Christian Jünemann: As an exclusively manufacturing industry, the location conditions are of immense importance. These naturally include the enormous rise in energy prices, the weak infrastructure – keyword: Rahmede viaduct – and increasing bureaucracy. In addition to the current economic policy issues, we are very much concerned with the further development of our product range and the expansion of our sales markets in order to secure our location in the long term. The topic of sustainability has been with us for many years. Every year, we have our sustainability measures assessed by the company EcoVadis in order to make as much progress as possible. The long-term and therefore sustainable development of our company is a top priority for us.
NIRO: Which products, services or innovations from Julius vom Hofe GmbH & Co. KG could also be of interest to other NIRO member companies?
Christian Jünemann: As one of the leading warehouse and business equipment suppliers, we can certainly offer the right storage solution for every company in every industry. Our products are all “Made in Germany” and stand for the highest quality and durability. One of our great strengths is that we respond quickly and individually to every customer request. We create the right storage solution for every customer. In addition to our high-quality products, our more than 160 years of market and industry experience means that we can certainly make a major contribution to all storage and business equipment issues.
NIRO: What current challenges do you see for your company due to increasing digitalization processes and to what extent could being part of NIRO be helpful?
Christian Jünemann: The constant advance of digitalization is also an issue in our company. There is a lively exchange with our customers in order to meet the requirements here too. An exchange at NIRO will certainly help us to find new solutions and share our experiences. We are grateful for any exchange and input on these topics.
NIRO: And finally, a bit of wishful thinking: Which event can NIRO plan for you or your team?
Christian Jünemann: We are curious and open to everything. The events we’ve seen so far fully meet our expectations and have piqued our interest. We are happy to be inspired and then come back to you with new ideas.
