Welcome to NIRO: Stanzwerk Wetter Sichelschmidt GmbH & Co. KG

We have received further reinforcements for our network: Stanzwerk Wetter Sichelschmidt GmbH & Co. KG, known for innovative functional fittings under the name stawett, is one of our new members.
With our sister company limoss GmbH & Co. KG, we now have two new strong players from Wetter at NIRO.

Founded in 1923, stawett can look back on a success story spanning over a hundred years. When it was founded, the stamping plant produced and sold mass-produced items for the iron industry in a small workshop. The company quickly adapted to market requirements and manufactured bed and sofa fittings in large quantities.
Our new member has always moved with the times and developed innovative solutions for the furniture industry, such as Springauf fittings for sofas, innovative solutions for beds and various comfort solutions for recliners. With this historically grown manufacturing expertise as a basis, stawett today stands for functional fittings with the claim “Designed in Germany” and “Made in EU”.

In the industry, stawett is known for quality and reliability. The company develops and manufactures high-quality functional fittings, such as stand-up aids.

At its headquarters in Wetter and at an additional, modern production site in Romania, stawett combines modern high-performance machinery with genuine craftsmanship to create exclusive new solutions.
Dedicated teams reliably implement both small and large series production for customers, from the initial idea to the finished product.
A passion for quality and innovation is what drives our new member stawett – we look forward to the impetus around hardware technology, production and innovation in our network.

NIRO: Mr. Kuhnke, welcome as a new member of the Industrie RuhrOst network!
Your company is now joining our network. What convinced you to become a member of NIRO?
Thorsten Kuhnke: We were particularly impressed by the practical exchange between regional industrial companies. NIRO offers a strong platform for sharing experiences, learning from each other and jointly developing solutions for current challenges in the industry. The regional focus and the proximity to other SMEs in the Ruhr region were decisive factors for us.

NIRO: Which topics are particularly topical in your company? Which issues would you like to find out more about in our network?
Thorsten Kuhnke: The challenges posed by absences due to illness, the optimization of our processes and adapting to uncertain market conditions are particularly topical for us. We hope that the network will provide us with practical ideas, an exchange of experiences and possible solutions.

NIRO: As a regional network, NIRO promotes good relationships between its members. Could your company’s products or services also be of interest to other members?
Thorsten Kuhnke: As a manufacturer of a specialized niche product, our services are not equally relevant for every company. Nevertheless, we see potential in the network for professional exchange, selective cooperation and possible points of contact along the industrial value chain. Open dialog and mutual learning are our top priorities.

NIRO: What challenges are you currently facing? What issues could the network help you with?
Thorsten Kuhnke: We are currently focusing in particular on recruiting and retaining employees, dealing with rising energy, material and wage costs and further optimizing our production processes. In the network, we would like to share tried-and-tested solutions, best practices and opportunities for cooperation – particularly on the topics of skilled workers, increasing efficiency and securing the future of SMEs.

NIRO: We offer our members different spaces: “Sharing knowledge”, “Working together” and “Shopping together”. In which space are we most likely to meet you?
Thorsten Kuhnke: In principle, we see potential in all of the areas mentioned. It is important for us to get to know the network first and to examine step by step in which areas there are concrete and meaningful points of contact. The open exchange forms the basis for further forms of cooperation.

NIRO: Thank you very much and here’s to good cooperation!
