We have signed a new energy supply contract with Scholt Energy for electricity and gas for the years 2028 through 2030 on behalf of NIRO members and customers of byNIRO GmbH. The contract is based on a dynamic procurement model.
Our negotiation team conducted a comprehensive review of Scholt Energy’s procurement model. The focus was on the future requirements of our participating companies, whose energy consumption will continue to change due to efficiency measures, new technologies, and process optimizations.
This is precisely where the Scholt model comes in: It offers flexible volume procurement that can be dynamically adapted to changing needs.
Instead of being locked into fixed volumes for the long term, the model allows for market-oriented, tiered, and situational procurement. This enables both opportunities to be seized and risks to be better distributed—while maintaining high transparency regarding price developments and procurement options.
Thus, the key strengths of Scholt’s model lie in the high flexibility of volume procurement for changing consumption profiles, the possibility of phased price fixing, and market-driven procurement rather than rigid full supply. There is transparent information on price and market developments and a good balance between risk hedging and the exploitation of market opportunities.
With this agreement, we are strengthening energy procurement across all participating sites and establishing a structured yet flexible framework for the years 2028 through 2030.
Special thanks go to our negotiating team, which thoroughly explored all options and made this successful outcome possible.
We look forward to a productive and trusting partnership with Scholt Energy starting in 2028.
