10 Years of Digital Week Dortmund: Our network was once again part of this anniversary #diwodo. During a special lunch break on September 18, 2026—or, to be more precise, a particularly delicious lunch break here at Hafenraum—new faces and old friends came together. In keeping with the “HafenQuest” digital scavenger hunt, which also took place that day, we served up real, delicious schnitzel.
From September 15 to 21, 2026, #diwodo shaped the life of the city’s digital community for the tenth time. Once again, it served as a hub for digitalization, artificial intelligence, and technological innovations.
Approximately 180 events throughout the city offered practical insights, new ideas, and many opportunities for exchange. Companies, institutions, startups, the academic community, and interested members of the public came together to make digital developments tangible and to jointly develop ideas for the future.
At the same time, the FATT—Festival of Arts, Tech & Taste—took place for the first time, bringing together the themes of art, technology, and cuisine at the Hansa Coking Plant in Dortmund.
A highlight of Friday at #diwodo was the Port of Dortmund and the companies based there. The digital scavenger hunt “HafenQuest” invited participants to visit various stations, get to know the companies, and collect QR codes on site. NIRO was also there and opened its doors to members and anyone who wanted to discover our network or simply stop by for a casual visit.
So our digital scavenger hunt turned into a very analog schnitzel feast during our lunch break. About 20 people gathered and spent a relaxed lunch break together. Lively conversations about all sorts of topics quickly developed, without any set themes or focal points. New faces and old acquaintances chatted and made connections. Networking, the way we like it, can also happen entirely in person.
We are very pleased that so many visitors found their way to our booth. Thank you very much for your interest, the open discussions, and the lovely lunch break we shared.
#diwodo has once again shown that digitalization thrives not only on technology, but above all on people who share knowledge, build on ideas, and connect with one another.
