On October 24, 2023, managers from 15 member companies met at the Unna district hall to define key sustainability topics and form new project groups. Around 30 employees from various functional areas are now involved in our sustainability working group. At the beginning of the meeting, there was a short round of introductions and many participants contributed what they had already been able to work on and implement in the first round. New priorities have now been set and the initial ideas that were formulated on the basis of the milestone and the presentation of the results of the first round have been fleshed out. Since the end of October, four project groups have been working on new topics: One group is dealing with the digital product passport, management systems are the focus of another group, sustainable procurement with a focus on risk analysis is being worked on by a third group and the fourth topic being considered is the creation and implementation of a (sustainability) strategy. The project groups organize their meetings independently. This is coordinated by the project group leaders. Four meetings of the working group in person and regular online status meetings are also planned in order to track the progress of the individual project groups.
The second round is scheduled to conclude at the end of August 2024 – hopefully with similarly exciting and helpful results as those gathered in the first round.
