Exchange of experience AG VAL at BJB

On August 22, 2023, the members of our VAL working group met at BJB in Arnsberg to discuss current topics.
BJB logistics manager Jürgen Plümper welcomed the group and, together with the BJB team, also consisting of Sabrina Schumacher and Dirk Pohl, presented BJB’s logistics division. During the subsequent on-site inspection, the participants were given an interesting insight. Among other things, this exchange of experiences focused on the topic of “approved exporters”. This describes a simplified customs declaration with formal authorization. This is a simplified procedure under customs law for the export declaration of goods. Every export must be declared electronically. The approval granted by the main customs office – i.e. after a successful application for authorization – results in a number of advantages in customs clearance.
BJB has been a so-called “approved exporter” for several years now. The BJB team reported on its experience with the procedure for obtaining and maintaining this status.
Some other member companies are planning to apply for this simplified customs declaration and so some questions were clarified directly on site. In the area of shipping, foreign trade and logistics in particular, many legal changes are always on the agenda and our working group expressed the desire for a monthly regulars’ table in order to be able to discuss current issues in a timely and uncomplicated manner. NIRO has therefore set up a monthly online regulars’ table, which takes place on the first Wednesday of every month at 10:30 a.m. in MS-Teams.
Another meeting in the presence of another member company is also being planned.
