At this year’s Hannover Messe, Chancellor Scholz inspected the innovative wheel assembly at the IBG stand.
As usual, our member company IBG presented the latest technologies at the world’s leading trade fair for industry in a highly innovative way. In keeping with the main theme of “Industrial Transformation”, IBG will be showcasing the latest technologies and developments in Hall 6 at Stand A48 until April 4, 2025.
On the opening day of Hannover Messe 2025, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, Canadian Finance Minister François-Philippe Champagne and Lower Saxony’s Minister President Stephan Weil visited the pioneering demonstration of automated wheel assembly. Matthias Fabian Goeke from the IBG Management Board and Selim Gökbas, Head of Research and Development, presented the application with the impressive interaction of robotics, gripping technology, vision technology, artificial intelligence and industrial precision.
The focus of IBG’s presentation was the automatic assembly of a wheel on an electric sports car. A driverless transport system delivered the wheel while a collaborative robot inserted the screws. A large industrial robot then took over the wheel and simulated the assembly and screwing process. By automatically recording the torque and angle of rotation for each screwdriving process, 100% control is carried out, enabling the traceability of each individual assembly process.
The solution combines industry-standard hardware components, specialized gripping and screwdriving technology and intelligent camera systems.
The process is optimized through the targeted use of artificial intelligence.
This innovation underlines IBG’s leading role in automation technology and points to the future of intelligent production.
