Under the acronym PUVACEIH (a pop-up pre-Advent currywurst meal in the harbour), around 30 interested NIRO members gathered at the new NIRO location to take a first look at the 300 square meter space that we will be using for events and functions from 2024. There are still no NIRO signs on Kanalstraße in Dortmund’s port and the parking spaces are not yet signposted: But the new space is nearing completion. Reason enough to offer a short tour in smaller groups in response to several requests.
There is still a lot to do, but the big picture is in sight.
The ceiling is not yet completely suspended, the glass partition to the seminar room is not yet in place, there are some cables and panels lying around, the kitchen corner is still empty, furniture is missing and the technology still needs to be installed: A network room in the making. Some early birds took the opportunity to get an initial overview of the new space and its potential.
It can be used flexibly by larger and smaller groups. Seminars and workshops are held in a separate area. Exhibitions and larger events can also be held there.
After the brief tour, we went to the canteen of our member company ABP Induction Systems GmbH, as NIRO will be living in the direct vicinity of one of its members. Many thanks at this point for allowing us to use the restaurant and to the kitchen for the delicious currywurst.
Some of our visitors already had concrete ideas in mind for how member companies could also use the space. Soon next year, when all the work has been completed and the room is fully operational, you will receive all the important information about the room and its use. We look forward to welcoming you there to fill the space with life together.
